HomeElectrical Whole Home Rewiring

Whole Home Rewiring in Edmond, OK

Older homes in Edmond and the Oklahoma City area often have wiring that is decades out of date — and potentially dangerous. Knob-and-tube, aluminum, and deteriorated wiring are leading causes of house fires. Triple Play's licensed electricians rewire homes completely, safely, and to current code.

Frequently Asked Questions

Whole Home Rewiring — common questions answered

How do I know if my home needs to be rewired?
Signs include frequently tripping breakers, flickering lights, outlets that spark or don't work, burning smell, discolored outlet covers, a home over 40 years old with original wiring, or the presence of knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring.
Is old wiring really a fire hazard?
Yes. Deteriorated insulation, knob-and-tube wiring, and aluminum wiring connections are among the leading causes of residential electrical fires. The National Fire Protection Association estimates electrical failures cause over 45,000 home fires annually.
Will I need to move out during a rewire?
For a partial rewire, usually not. For a full whole-home rewire, you may need to be out for 3–5 days or be comfortable without power in sections of your home. We plan the work carefully to minimize disruption.
How long does a whole-home rewire take?
Typically 3–7 days depending on the size and complexity of your home. We restore power to your home at the end of each workday when possible.
Will insurance cover a home rewire?
Standard homeowners insurance does not typically cover rewiring, but some insurers will refuse to cover homes with knob-and-tube wiring, or charge a significant premium. A rewire may be necessary to obtain or maintain coverage.
Do you patch the walls after rewiring?
We take care to minimize wall openings using fish tape and existing pathways wherever possible. We do not perform drywall finishing, but we work cleanly and minimize the patching work your contractor will need to do.
